Once again, the fans have spoken for the late Joe Nuxhall.

For the second year in a row, Nuxhall led all vote getters in on-line voting by fans for one of three spots on the list of finalists for the Ford C. Frick Award, presented annually for excellence in baseball broadcasting.

The winner will be announced Dec. 9 at the Baseball Winter Meetings in Las Vegas. The final voting is done by 20 voters, including the 15-living Frick Award winners, including Nuxhall's long-time partner, Marty Brennaman.

Nuxhall received the most votes of any of the candidates, receiving 19,574 votes. The other top vote-getters were Jacques Doucet (10,282) and Tom Cheek (8,992). Last year, Nuxhall received 82,304 votes following his passing.

The other finalists are Billy Berroa, Ken Coleman, Dizzy Dean, Lanny Frattare, Tony Kubek, Graham McNamee and Dave Van Horne.
